California

Ty had a mandatory training week in Irvine, California this week and I decided to go with him! McGladrey put us up in a great room in the Irvine Marriott with a king-size bed. While Ty worked all day, I got to play! We also had lots of fun in the evenings when he got off work.

Monday: Jack and I checked out the awesome pool. We had the whole thing to ourselves. Later, we drove down to Fashion Island and did some shopping. Jack got to ride the carousel there and he loved it. That evening, we all had a picnic dinner at Newport Beach. It was freezing! We definitely weren't expecting 65 degree weather!

Tuesday: Jack and I did some more shopping at Fashion Island. This time, I found the Kate Spade store! We also walked to Ty's office to meet him when he got off. Jack loved the mirrors on the outside of the building. For dinner, we went down to the Balboa Peninsula and ate the cutest 50's diner on the pier. Again, it was freezing!

Wednesday: During the day, Jack and I played at the beach and a nearby playground (forgot the camera). That evening, we braved the crowds and went to Downtown Disney. This time it was freezing and raining! It was really fun, though. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe--which we've been wanting to do for a long time--and Jack loved it. He did get a little scared during the thunderstorms, though, and had to hold Ty's hand the whole time we were there. So cute.

Your baby is so cute! I love seeing picture's of him. It looks like you guys are the ONLY ones at the beach--ha ha. California is fun! Next time you should take him to Disneyland-I'm sure he'd love it :)

So fun that you got to go, too! You were brave to drive around the unknown streets of Cali during the day! I prob would have just stayed at the hotel pool all day :)

The Californians call it June Gloom (and May Grey). We had the same problem when we spent the week in Cali just before Cody & JoEllen's wedding. Cool to cold each day.

But it looks like you did really fun things.

How fun! My husbands family lives in the San Diego area and we are going to visit them next week. I can't wait. Southern California is great!

Jack looks so big in the picture all by himself. He was so tiny last time I saw him.
