Family

We have had a very eventful month - lots of family in town, parties, and swimming. First, we celebrated Anna's 20th birthday. I can't believe my baby sister is in her twenties!

Last week, Granna, Papa, and the Tubmans came to visit. We had a good time even though the visit was much too short.

We also have had lots of fun with Dave & Becki's family. Jack loves Hailey. She is just his size!

Our Home

Well, it's not perfect, but I realized today that if I waited to take pictures of our home until everything was done, they wouldn't happen for a year or so! Besides, nobody expects perfection from me anyway. Okay, This is the outside of our home. We love the palm trees.

This is the living room. It's the first room you see when you walk in the front door.

Our kitchen.

This is the family room and it is done! It feels so good to check it off the list.

The office. Ty refinished this furniture all by himself.

This is the hall bathroom. It is in between the guest bedroom and Jack's bedroom (which I didn't take pictures of, because they are really nothing special yet).

This is the master bedroom. An almost-completed room.

"Melted chocolate" walls of the master bathroom.

This is our backyard.

Ty's pride and joy--the garage!

Cousins!

Today, Ethan and Gavin came to play while Cody and JoEllen went to the temple. Jack LOVED having friends his size to play with, although he did seem a little sad that he couldn't keep up with them. Ty and I got a little taste of what it would be like to have 3 kids (this won't happen for a LONG time...if ever)! I left the boys for a second to go stir dinner and this is what I came back to:

Then Gavin decided he needed to get in on the fun, so Uncle Ty gave him a boost.

I think Ethan was the ring leader. Boys will be boys!

Ty's first day of work

Today was Ty's first day as an "entry-level auditor" at McGladrey & Pullen. He had a really nice day and remembered most everyone from his internship two summers ago. The best part is that it only took him 19 minutes to get work - and that's with traffic. He was really excited about that.

My life went back to normal - being alone with Jack all day. It was nice to have Ty home for the last few weeks. It's good to have another set of eyes watching Jack. If I leave him for a second, he gets into mischief. He loves to get into my shoes.

And he's learned how to turn the TV on. He likes to watch at a very close distance.

As soon as I can get curtains up and all the furniture in place, I'll post some pictures of the inside of our home. I'm almost there!
