For Columbus Day, we spent a couple days in the forest just south of Flagstaff. We found a place called Stoneman Lake on the map and thought it sounded nice. Anna and Jason were able to meet up with us, too. We had such a good time that we decided this needs to become an annual occasion.
The rig (unfortunately, the trailer was just borrowed).
On Sunday, we drove to Happy Jack, AZ where there is a small branch that meets in a quaint meetinghouse. There were about 30 people in the chapel, and according to the Branch President, all but eight of them were visitors.
They opened up the primary room for my kids, but there was no teacher
there. Anna got creative and gave them some coloring assignments.
The rest of the weekend, we went hiking, cooked delicious Dutch oven food, and played games outside.
Audrey tried so hard to keep up with Jack on his bike.
Unfortunately, GoogleMaps was a little misleading... there is no water in Stoneman Lake. So much for fishing.
Ty took this picture of the "lake" early one morning. The lake bed is filled with fog. Gorgeous!
