After the wedding, we headed east to Yellowstone National Park. We've been talking about going since last summer and finally made it. We tried to study up a bit on all the cool things we'd see so the kids would be prepared, but I think they were still shocked by the incredible sites we saw.
Firehole River
The bison love to walk on the road. They get very close!
Audrey at Excelsior Geyser
Midway Geyser Basin
Grand Prismatic Spring
We stayed two nights in a cute, rustic cabin at the Old Faithful Lodge. It was a secluded spot right next to the Firehole River and we enjoyed watching Old Faithful early in the morning and late at night when the crowds weren't around.
Waiting for Old Faithful to go off
Upper Geyser Basin
Relaxing at Lower Falls
A bus of Chinese Tourists pulled up at Lower Falls the same time that we did. Audrey was an instant star with her blonde curls and several people asked us if they could take a picture with her. Jack became a pro at saying "Ni Hao!"
A beautiful view of Lower Falls
Near the parking lot at Upper Falls, we saw a huge crowd taking pictures. Ty hopped out of the car to join them and there was a black bear down a nearby ravine. After a minute or two, Ty ran back to the car to tell us it was coming into the parking lot.
We had front row seats from our car!
Upper Falls
We saw some awesome wildlife, too. Ty was in heaven with his camera in one hand and a fishing rod in the other.
