Coming Home

Meet Link: circa 1998.
When Ty was 15 years old, he raised a black lab puppy for Guide Dogs for the Blind. For the last 12 years, Link has been a seeing-eye dog for a blind man. A few months ago, he was retired. Two weeks ago, we got a call asking if we'd like him back...

 Meet Link: circa 2010.

When we got the call, we both knew the answer was an enthusiastic "yes!" Ty has always dreamed of the day when we would have a dog in our home. I've never had a pet in my life, but I instantly felt like this would be a great blessing for our little family. As most of you know, I will soon be going without Ty for a couple months, and I honestly feel like a dog to watch over me and Jack is a gift from heaven.
And not just any dog...

...but a dog that has already been a part of the family for years.
And today, he got to come home.

Jason and I are excited for you! We were just thinking last night that Link will probably be great company for you and Jack while Ty's gone.

How cool is that?! I am so not a dog person, but man that dog is beautiful and obviously well trained and thus the perfect dog! What a fun story!

My favorite picture is of that 15-year old cousin of mine! Man, Ty looks so young there. Congrats on having Link return at just the right time!
