Trunk-or-Treat

Tonight was the ward trunk-or-treat. Here are the kids all ready to go. Unfortunately, Elliot threw up about five minutes before this picture was taken. We didn't stay at the activity long, but we still had fun.

We wore long sleeve shirts today! Fall is finally here.

Stoneman Lake

For Columbus Day, we spent a couple days in the forest just south of Flagstaff. We found a place called Stoneman Lake on the map and thought it sounded nice. Anna and Jason were able to meet up with us, too. We had such a good time that we decided this needs to become an annual occasion.

On Sunday, we drove to Happy Jack, AZ where there is a small branch that meets in a quaint meetinghouse. There were about 30 people in the chapel, and according to the Branch President, all but eight of them were visitors.

They opened up the primary room for my kids, but there was no teacher there. Anna got creative and gave them some coloring assignments.

The rest of the weekend, we went hiking, cooked delicious Dutch oven food, and played games outside.

Unfortunately, GoogleMaps was a little misleading... there is no water in Stoneman Lake. So much for fishing.

Ty took this picture of the "lake" early one morning. The lake bed is filled with fog. Gorgeous!

Tee Ball

Jack started playing tee ball and his first game was today. His team name is the Golden Eagles and his coach is Dad. He had a lot of fun and felt good about scoring some points.

Six Years Old

This cute little kid loves being six years old.

Little Miss

I had to take a picture of Audrey in her Sunday best. This girl melts my heart.

Audrey cracks me up. Her new favorite word is "absolutely!" She says it frequently and even throws it into the middle of sentences sometimes. 

A couple of nights ago, she was trying to help me up from off the floor. I didn't feel like getting up, so of course, she couldn't budge me. She strained and strained then finally said, "Look! I see a note on you. It says 'This is the mommy that can never move.'" I love her little imagination.

Audrey was wearing a white shirt yesterday. When I was helping her go to the bathroom, she looked at the toilet with surprise and said "It's white. I'm white. We match! Me and the toilet are twins!"

Jack's Birthday Party

Jack's birthday is in a few days, so we had a little party for him today with some school and church friends. He asked for a solar system cake this year and, believe me, he watched me like a hawk while I made it. Every planet had to be just the right color and in just the right spot.

We had a water balloon fight, played on the slip-n-slide, and jumped on the trampoline. We also had a scavenger hunt around the house with clues where to find all the planets. It was pure craziness for two hours, but I think everyone had a good time.
