Student of the Month

Jack is the student of the month for his class for August! There was a little ceremony at the school this morning for all the kids to come and get a certificate. We are sure proud of our little kindergartner!

Homemade Ice Cream

We got this kids' ice cream maker from a friend this week and Jack was in heaven. I love the look of pure contentment on his face.

First Day of Kindergarten

I really can't believe it, but Jack went off to Kindergarten this morning. I was so proud of myself--no tears in the classroom! Jack was excited with just a little bit of nervousness. He was really happy to see his name on the board listed as the lunch bin holder. He loves being assigned a job. Here he is ready for school:

Vegas

Ty had some business in Vegas this weekend, so Jack and I tagged along and made a vacation out of it. We mostly just relaxed in our hotel room and watched the Olympics, but we did take a few hours to show Jack our favorite hotel on the strip: Bellagio!

Cookies with Mimi

Jack and Mimi made chocolate chip cookies together yesterday...after they did the laundry, of course. We're trying to spend as much time at my parents house as possible with them leaving for Italy in just 2 months!

Camping

When you're sick of the Phoenix heat, there is nothing like going camping for a few days. We wore long pants and even needed jackets at night. Woohoo! We didn't have much on the agenda, except for relaxing and fishing. We got our fill of both.

Fourth of July

We had a wonderful Fourth of July vacation in Page this year. We weren't planning on going, but when we found out we were the only ones in the family that wouldn't be there, we changed our minds.

On the Fourth, we went down to the parade on main street. It's so fun to be in a small town for a holiday like this one. The rest of the week, we played, ate good food, swam, relaxed at the Lake, and had lots of fun!
