Camping in the Kaibab

We just got back from a three-day campng trip to the Kaibab. It rained almost the entire time, but at least it was a lot cooler than Phoenix weather!

Papa and Granna's sweet trailer!
We drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. For being a holiday weekend, there really weren't too many people...maybe the rain scared them all away.

This was our view of the Grand Canyon! If you look really closely, you can see a little something through the clouds!
Another view of the Grand Canyon...the fog was getting worse by the minute.

We were all packed on the last day and ready to go when the rain stopped and the sun came out. Papa and Ty begged the girls to go for a ride and, of course, they got their way. They rode a portion of the Arizona Trail.
They rode past Crystal Springs. This is a natural spring coming out of the ground.

We had a blast. It was nice to spend a few days in Page when we got back. We got to spend an afternoon out at Antelope Marina with the Tubmans and now we can't wait to go out on the houseboat in a few months!

Socks

I caught Jack trying to put my socks on this morning, so I went ahead and helped him out. He was very happy.

Pinal Peak Camping

We went camping this weekend in the Pinal mountains. It was a great spot. We drove to Globe first, and then you turn off the highway and take dirt roads for about 45 minutes. It was really secluded. We didn't see or hear anyone else in our camping spot. We also had a great view. On one side of the peak you could see all of Globe and the mines and on the other side you could see Phoenix. This was Jack's first camping trip of the season and I think he really enjoyed it.

Quick story: On our way home, Ty wanted to try taking a new route through the mountains. I told him my vote was to go back the way we came. He insisted that we try the new route, though. Finally, we put it to rock-paper-scissors and I won. But what did Ty do? He took his new route anyway! I couldn't believe it. So, we start taking this new route and after about 10 miles of winding dirt roads, we come to a gate. A locked gate. Ha! We had to turn around and go back my way. It took Ty about 5 miles to say "Yes Dear, you were right." I was gloating the whole way home.

More From Swimming Lessons...

Jack & Brock

That's my 1-year-old...under water...by himself... Scary!
"Monkey walking" in the deep end

"Nana"

Jack has grown quite attached to his "Nana." When she sits down to read, he has to read with her. So cute.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day. Ty got up with Jack at 7 and told me that I needed to go back to bed. I didn't think I'd be able to sleep in any later, but before I knew it I woke up at 9. :) Church was great and I only had to stay with Jack in nursery for the second hour. We're hoping he can be away from me for 2 hours by the time he's Primary age... We'll see.

I love being Jack's mother so much. He's such a cute little boy--even when he's being a stinker. How could you not love this little guy?

Mother's Day Party

Happy Mother's Day! We celebrated today by having a BBQ/swim party at our house with the Jefferies family. The water was 82 degrees, so we figured it was finally time to get in. Jack was proud to show off his swimming lesson skills to everyone.
